Match Logan homebuyer resources to your address and next step
Logan has local education and counseling contacts, but an organization based in the city may administer a program with a different service area. Compare providers above, then use these resources to check the property jurisdiction, education requirements and financing arrangements relevant to your purchase.
Choose the homebuyer workshop when you need purchase education
Utah State University's Housing and Financial Counseling service offers a Home Buyer Education Workshop at the Sorenson Center in Logan. Its workshop page identifies Cache, Box Elder and Rich county residents as the local service area and provides telephone registration. Check the schedule and space directly, and confirm that your lender or assistance administrator accepts the certificate.
The same page lists a separate financial-skills workshop and individual money-management sessions. If your immediate need is budgeting or credit preparation, ask which appointment fits that need; do not assume every financial workshop produces the homebuyer certificate a program requires. USU also invites requests about disability or language accommodations.
Ask NNHC about HomeChoice when disability-related eligibility may apply
Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation, based in Logan, describes HomeChoice as a second mortgage for qualifying households that include a person with a disability. Its stated property scope is existing homes in Utah, so it is a statewide resource administered from a local office, rather than a Logan-only benefit.
NNHC explicitly distinguishes HomeChoice from down payment assistance and requires qualification for a primary mortgage. Its page links an application and a program contact. Before relying on the financing, ask NNHC about current funding, household and property requirements, and how the first lender must coordinate the second mortgage. Request a proposal showing both payment obligations; do not treat HomeChoice as a grant or assume it can be combined with every other program.
Do not apply a regional assistance description to a Logan City property
Bear River Association of Governments' First Time Home Buyer program description expressly excludes Logan City, even though it covers other locations in Cache, Box Elder and Rich counties. BRAG having an office in Logan does not make a home inside the city eligible for that program.
Confirm the property's municipal jurisdiction before including regional assistance in your financing plan. For a home outside Logan City, also ask BRAG about its current program status and application requirements. The Utah state guide provides a separate starting point for statewide options; those have their own underwriting and property rules.
